Turn your land into a twenty-year carbon project
Large areas with low agricultural yield, or none at all, can be used as carbon sinks. We run the whole process, from soil analysis to certification and sale.
Eligibility
Which land qualifies?
- Ownership
- Treasury, foundation or private
- Size
- At least 3.500 decares (350 ha). Measurement and certification costs are spread across the area, so anything smaller is not viable.
- Land class
- Must not be classified as forest. Existing forest land is excluded.
- Soil
- Suitability is established by analysing samples taken on site.
Before and after
The same land, twenty years apart
Bare land that is not classified as forest becomes a closed-canopy forest within twenty years, with the right species and steady care. Every tonne of carbon that forest binds is measured, certified and sold.
Model
Purchase or lease?
Purchase
For privately owned land. The land is transferred into the project; maintenance, measurement and certification stay with us for the project term.
Long-term lease
An alternative to purchase for private land, and the route for treasury and foundation land. Ownership stays with you; the land is dedicated to the carbon project for its term.
